Inside Our Emotions

"Inside Our Emotions" is an experimental, installation-style piece created with the help of Greater Hartford Arts Coucils "Street Stages" grant in 2024. Loosely inspired by the animated movie "Inside Out," Garet&Co's piece explores how our emotions can affect the way we move through our daily life and routine, and how they affect the way we treat people around us. Through the piece, one dancer portrays a human, and the rest each portray a separate emotion. In the piece, each of the emotions performs the same duet with the human, but the emotional intention behind the movement changes drastically between each pairing, therefore changing the nature of the relationship portrayed. "Inside Our Emotions" is an exploration of how we can all experience the same life events in a completely different lens, depending upon how our emotions affect our being.
